Discover popular Brazilian music with a 10-day email course

Want a simple and easy way to understand brazilian music?

Streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music and others have allowed us to listen to music from all over the world right from our smartphones. More and more people are expanding their musical horizons today, and that comes with a curiosity about the country’s culture. This is also true for Brazilian music.

Researching the history and culture may become somewhat tedious because of the amount of separate information you have to look for and compile to make sense. That is why I created this email course to help you out.

Our music is so rich, but most of it is not known to the world. Funk carioca is slowly becoming more popular in the world stage because of singers like Anitta, but there is so much more to be shared.

Here you will be introduced to the main genres that make up Brazilian music in a simple and direct manner. You don’t need to be a musical expert, just someone who is curious about Brazilian music and culture.

You will especially learn what some of the most popular genres in Brazil are, their history, how they impacted the popular music of today and who the most important players in each are.

about the author

I’m Barbara, a Brazilian who lived in the United States for 11 years and moved back to São Paulo in 2016. I have always loved my culture and therefore was very curious and interested in learning even more about what makes us who we are.

One of my passions is music. I believe that you can learn a lot from a culture through it. Music kept me connected with my culture while living abroad for so long. I would constantly play Brazilian songs on my guitar and introduce all of my friends to them.

I noticed that there isn’t a simple, direct and organized way to be quickly introduced to Brazilian music. So I created this course to give an opportunity for people interested in our culture and music to learn quickly and straight from their inbox.
